DJ & dancer Pau Avia ♥ Sònar

Sonar-bloggen 13:57 17 May 2011

My name is Pau Avia and I'm fashion contributor for V Magazine Spain and Neo2. I’m a dancer, an eventual house disco DJ, a lover and well, I don’t cook very well but I do my best, promise. I’m seriously hooked on music. I live right outside Barcelone and have visited the festival three times.

A a spanish I have to say – I’m so proud of Sònar Barcelone which, in my opinion, is one of the best musical and innovative proposals around the world. Since mid 90’s this festival has become our best ambassador by showcasing some of the best groups, both new and old ones, in electronic history. I remember perfectly some big names of these last years as Orbital or Grace Jones, who almost turned me into a mad, crazy dancer under those Caribbean rhythms. Or Jonsi, last June, who showed the audience the real relationship between nature and music – Iceland of course! --->

This year I’m really looking forward to see Aphex Twin, Cut Cop and M.I.A. But honestly, most of the time it's the new bands in the festival schedule that surprise me.

Paus bästa lokala DJ: Right now it is photographer César Segarra and fashion designer Roberto Piqueras – both social disruptive and the perfect hosts.
Paus bästa fest: Monthly Barcelone party Who's the boss by the amazing Silvia Prada. She’s based in NYC at the moment.
Paus bästa Sònarminne: Wow! Kind of difficult to say!!! I would say Jonsi with my boy!! And when my very good friend César pissed in a bottle at that Chemical Brothers live concert. It was BEYOND crowded and impossible to reach the toilets and so.. he did it. I nearly died laughing!!
